NSSK won PEI 2017 Private Equity Firm of the Year in Japan

Nippon Sangyo Suishin Kiko (NSSK), a leading Japan-focused private equity firm in Tokyo has been named “2017 Private Equity Firm of the Year” by Private Equity International, a leading publication dedicated to reporting on the global private equity industry.

“The entire NSSK team is proud and humbled to have received such a prestigious award and recognition,” commented Jun Tsusaka, Founding Member and CEO/CIO.  To be selected by the global industry as the premier private equity firm in Japan is an honor and a testament to the tireless commitment of the NSSK team to deliver only the best outcomes for all stakeholders.”

PEI also noted that NSSK had completed three investments during the fund raising of NSSK II, including investments in Vati (a leading nursing home operator; https://www.vati.co.jp/), Kantoku Global (a leading exporter of second hand refurbished Japanese trucks; http://www.kantoku.co.jp/), and Bunkasha (a leading publisher of Japanese comics and magazines primarily targeted to women; https://www.bunkasha.co.jp/).  Recently, NSSK II conducted dividend recapitalizations at both Vati and Kantoku Global and completed its fourth investment in RAY Field (www.rayfield.jp/ ), a leading total beauty care company based in the Chubu area.

NSSK also manages the Chubu; Hokuriku Region Vitalization Investment L.P., an approximately JPY6 billion Fund targeted to the 8 prefectures in central Japan with the LP backing of private and government-related financial firms.  It’s first investment was closed in 2017 in SORA Group , a leading specialty restaurant group (Japanese, Italian, Chinese and bakery products; http://www.sora-g.jp/) primarily based in Nagoya.

Winners for the PEI Awards 2017 were based on the votes of thousands of industry professionals, which include limited partners in Asia, North America, Europe, and the Middle East as well as general partners, lenders, accountants, lawyers, and consultants.
