日本産業推進機構:NSSK

Investment strategy

We believe the following key elements differentiate NSSK’s investment strategy

Multi-dimensional proprietary sourcing: Virtually all of the investments made by the NSSK team have been proprietary or part of highly limited processes.

Operational value-added approach to affect investment outcomes: A strong and proven emphasis on operational value-added and working in partnership with management teams have been key drivers to create value and protect value in economic downturns.

Ability to create off-market investments in complexity: Our ability to deal with complexity has enabled us to uncover hidden compelling values of investments and to create off-market investment opportunities that benefit all concerned.

Key Investment Themes

  • Business Succession

We aim to responsibly acquire shares from owners facing succession challenges, nurturing and further growing the businesses they have built, and passing them on to the next generation. We have a top-tier track record in business succession investing in Japan.

  • Carve-Out

As part of corporate restructuring and non-core divestments, our goal is to foster the independent growth of these new entities. We achieve this by becoming their new shareholders and providing comprehensive support in terms of financing, human resources and more, thereby facilitating the development of their businesses.

  • MBO (Management Buy-Out)

When company management (or employees) acquires their own shares or certain business divisions to go private, we act as co-investors, providing funds for the purchase and supporting post-IPO management reforms to create sustainable value.

  • Special Situation

We invest in underperforming companies or companies undergoing restructuring and aim to facilitate their recovery by providing flexible solutions in challenging situations, ultimately striving to create value for all stakeholders.
